About us

La Casa del Sol's story begins with Constancio Izaguirre, a self-taught musician from Mexico. He joined his sister Carmenโ€™s restaurant chain, Tampicoโ€™s, where he shared his love for music and passion for cooking. After years of hard work and dedication, Constancio moved his family to Thibodaux in 1975 with the dream of opening his own restaurant.


In 1976, that dream became a reality. With the support of his wife, Mrs. Ellie, and her beloved homemade recipes, they opened their first restaurant. When an early business partnership came to an end, the restaurant was relocated and reborn as La Casa del Sol in 1978. Since then, the Izaguirre family has expanded to several locations across southern Louisiana, always staying true to their roots โ€” serving authentic Mexican cuisine in a warm, family-friendly atmosphere.


At La Casa del Sol, we take pride in our freshly prepared meals and the genuine connections we build with our guests. We're not just a place to eat โ€” we're part of the community, growing and thriving thanks to the support of our loyal patrons.


Today, the Izaguirre family remains dedicated to sharing delicious food and making every guest feel like part of the family.
